Distributed Scenario

For this scenario the NGA Standard package or NGA Premium package is required.

Based on NGA Standard or NGA Premium more connections from a backend to a database are possible and can be extended. This distributed scenario is available for all backends InfluxDB®, MS SQL® and PostgreSQL®.

In the WinCC OA distributed system described below, the Server 1 does not require an extra license. The basic integrated NGA is sufficient. The Server 2 requires minimum the Standard package since in the basic package only local scenario is possible.

Current restrictions for distributed scenarios:

NGA must be configured on each distributed WinCC OA system separately
Common archive groups shared within the distributed systems can be used by configuring identical groups on each distributed system
System with DB should always be running, or the DB is started by OS at system boot.
