Activating recipes

Only once you have created a valid recipe type and a valid recipe (both must have the VALID status) can you send set point values to the peripheral devices. If you send a recipe to the data point elements concerned (you "activate" a recipe), then all the values in this recipe are set simultaneously.

Switch to the Activation tab:

Activating recipes

  1. Select the desired recipe type from the top combo box (e.g. BeerTypes).
  2. Select the desired recipe from the combo box underneath (e.g. Guinness).
  3. Click on Show to check your values again.
  4. Any changes, however, can only be made in the Recipe editor or Recipe type editor panels.
  5. Click on Activate if you decide the recipe and its values are correct.
  6. A dialog box tells you the recipe is being activated.
  7. The latest activation data is displayed in the relevant fields of the panel:

The data has been passed to the data point elements. To check this has been done you can look at the online values of your data point elements. These should agree with the values specified in the Recipe editor. In a real installation you would check the relevant element values currently reported by the peripheral devices.
