Configuration - Step 2 - Online Values

Online Values

In this panel, use data point groups to define all data points or data point types whose online values or alert statuses are to be synchronized between PSS and SSS at runtime. You can define single data point elements, whole data points, data point masks or data point types. In addition, you can use radio buttons to decide whether only the online values and/or the alarm status (acknowledgement time, acknowledgement status, acknowledgement user, alert comments etc..) should be synchronized. It is also possible to exclude certain data points from synchronization. By default, these are the WinCC OA compression levels of all data points, since these are of course checked extra on each system and thus should not be transferred.

Note: Note that the use of data point types is limited to names with a "2x2_" prefix.
Figure 1. Define data point groups

The buttons:

- deletes the selected data point group from the list.

- adds the selected data point group to the list.

- replaces the data point group from the list with the selected data point group.

Note that a data point (type) may not appear more than once in the list.

- opens the panel for data point group management.

CAUTION: Note that the system name must not be included in the data point name.

Way of synchronization

The type of synchronization defines the direction in which the transfer of the online values and the alert status is to take place. The configuration is still transferred exclusively from the PSS to the SSS.

  • Synchronization from PSS to SSS - the synchronization of the online values is done from the PSS to the SSS. This setting represents the default configuration of the disaster recovery system.
CAUTION:

Synchronization from PSS to SSS is possible only if the PSS is also active.

  • Synchronization from the active to the passive system - the active system sends the values to the passive system, regardless of whether PSS or SSS is the active system.
  • Synchronization in both directions - the data point groups from the Dp-Group both directions list are always transmitted in both directions between PSS and SSS, regardless of which of the two systems is active or passive.

If new data points are created in the passive system during an automatic configuration synchronization, their initialization values are only fetched from the active system when the data points are created. If the structure of a data point type has been extended (new element added), it is not possible to obtain an initialization value (no hotlinks when changing types).

DP Groups active to passive

Here the creation and definition of the datapoint groups to be synchronized between the PSS and the SSS (or the active and passive system) is done.

Connect on

  • Values

Only the online values are synchronized.

  • Acknowledge

    Only the acknowledgment is synchronized.

  • Both

Both the online values and the alert status are synchronized.

DP Group both directions

The data point groups added here are always transferred from the PSS to the SSS independent of whether a system is active or passive.

This area is only activated if the type of synchronization is set to Synchronization in both directions. The data point groups entered here are always transferred from the PSS to the SSS, regardless of whether a system is active or passive.

Masks of the non-replicated data points

All data points that correspond to the masks defined here are excluded from synchronization, even if they are defined in one of the lists above. This applies, for example, if an entire data point type is to be synchronized, but not its WinCC OA compression levels.
