Permission settings

The different functions of the WinCC OA video framework are divided into different functional groups. The framework distinguishes between 25 functional groups. For each of those groups a user with the authorization for the functional group Superuser (perm_1) can assign a permission bit (1-32).

If a logged in user wants to use a certain functional group, he has to posses the appropriate permission bit. The permission bits of each user are assigned by the WinCC OA user control. More information about the permission bits can be found in the WinCC OA online help under System management - Authorizations.

Only the permission bits which are assigned by user groups are interpreted (according to the WinCC OA CTRL function getUserPermission()).

Therefore, area permissions are not interpreted by the video framework.

You can select any user in this selection list and show the authorization level. All functional groups for which the selected user has authorization are highlighted.

Keyword

This column displays the keywords for the functional groups. These keywords are used by the authorization management functions VIDEO_OA_getUserPermission() and VIDEO_OA_openNoPermission().

Description

This column contains the description of the functional groups.

Permission

The permission bits which are assigned to the functional groups are displayed in this column.

Default Button

Resets the permission bits of the functional groups to the initial value.

Setting the permissions

In order to edit permission settings the user must have authorization for the functional group Superuser (perm_1). This function is preset with bit 32.

The user can edit the permission bit with a left mouse click on the permission column of the appropriate functional group.
