Configuration in the maintenance package

There are two important panels connected with the maintenance package, the (Panel for operation and the Panel for editing parameters). The functions of these panels are described below.

Panel for operation

The panel for operating the WH/SC can be opened in two ways:

  • By left-clicking on the WH/SC symbol in the plant display.

  • By left-clicking on the device symbol in the plant display for which a WH/SC has been configured and then clicking the "Operating-time" button. (The "Operations" button for an SC)

This panel features the following functions:

  • The name of the data point name and the description of the WH/SC is at the top.

  • Displays: Total operating hours, next maintenance/replacement in hours/operations, binary operating information (value of the source data point element), current daily total, value from previous day.

  • At the bottom you can open a trend display by selecting one from the combo box and then pressing the "..." button. You can edit correction values by pressing "...".

  • When you set status bits, the "Status bits:" line displays the respective symbols:

    Value never set yet.

    Configured maintenance (Device should be switched off)

  • "Service protocol" button: Opens the service log if maintenance tasks are defined for this device. (otherwise the button is grayed out)

  • "Maintenance" button: Opens a child panel displaying the maintenance tasks created for this WH/SC. After performing a task, you can complete it in WinCC OA by selecting it in the list and then left-clicking "OK". cf. Performing maintenance tasks. (if no maintenance tasks have been defined, this button is grayed out)

  • "Reset PLC counter" button: For a PLC count, this button resets the PLC counter. (otherwise the button is grayed out)

  • "Parameter" button: Opens the configuration panel for the WH/SC. (cf. Panel for editing parameters)

  • "Close" button: Closes the panel for operation.

  • "Help" button: Link to the online help.

Panel for editing parameters

The panel for editing WH/SC parameters can also be opened in two ways:

  • By clicking on the "Parameter" button in the panel for operation.

  • By right-clicking on the WH/SC symbol to display a pop-up menu and then selecting "Properties" to open the panel for editing parameters.

With the aid of this panel you can edit the WH/SC settings.

This panel features the following functions:

  • The name of the data point name and the description of the WH/SC is at the top.

  • The counter source is displayed.

  • Device name (grayed out, cannot be edited) and description are displayed.

  • Display of source data point element (grayed out, cannot be edited).

  • "Services" button: Clicking this button opens another dialog box displaying all configured services for the respective counter. In this window you can create, edit or delete services. (cf. Performing maintenance tasks)

  • "OK" button: Saves changes and closes the panel.

  • "Cancel" button: Closes the panel without saving any changes.

  • "Help" button: Link to the online help.
