The OLE DB provider tool in WinCC OA allows accessing historical data (archived values) through external reporting tools that use OLE DB as interface (for example, Crystal Reports, MS Excel). Furthermore, alerts can be queried. The provider tool has been implemented in two parts, the EXE component (WinCC OA manager) and the DLL component.
