Excel tools, basics

The Excel tools for mass configuration allow the user to import readymade templates (see Templates/DP lists, basics) into a workbook and to make changes there to the data points and dynamic attributes. All the familiar functions such as copying cells, quick duplication of cell values by clicking and dragging etc. are available to the user in Excel.

After saving the workbook, the template can be updated or the changes made in Excel imported into the database.

The worksheet layout in Excel provides a clear display of the imported ASCII template. This means that the user can quickly and easily edit the parameters set for dynamic attributes or create new data points in the system. The Excel tools are extremely powerful and apparently indispensable for mass configuration.
