Requirements

  • A correct installation of WinCC OA (WinCC OA basic installation or the WinCC OA UI installation (for remote UI)).
  • Windows Operating System
  • Correctly installed version of MS Excel - see chapter Software requirements.
  • The option ADO 2.6 is not available as an extra option anymore. The Microsoft Sub installation MDAC 2.7 (that is a superset of ADO) is executed instead if it is required for the use of a feature and it is not installed yet.
  • Use of the "History database" (WCCOAvalarch) or "RDB" (WCCOArdb).
  • You will need your own license to run Excel Report.
  • The following files are included with WinCC OA and are located in C:\Windows\System32\ or in the installation directory of WinCC OA:
    • mscomctl.ocx
    • mscomct2.ocx
    • SubTimer.dll
Note: If an error occurs during the installation of WinCC OA, a manual registration of the library (SubTimer.dll) must be performed. Open the command prompt as administrator and execute c:\Windows\SysWOW64\regsvr32.exe <NAME>.dll.
CAUTION: Note that if you use statistical functions and have specified the "Always start calculation at" time on the synchronization tab of the data point function, the start time for the report has to be the same as the "Always start calculation at" time of the DP function (otherwise, the report won't get the required data).
CAUTION: The correct installation order of Office and WinCC OA is very important, otherwise the functionality of Excel Report is not granted and some errors may occur. Install Office first and WinCC OA afterwards. Furthermore, please keep in mind that you have to reinstall WinCC OA if you update your Office version.
Note: To be able to use the Excel report in the example projects (Demo Application and Getting Started), you have to copy all files from the <wincc_oa_path>\data\xls_report to <proj_path>\data\xls_report.
