Browse for Devices (offline)

This is how you Search an EDE file for devices

  1. Right-click the tree root in the Tree View of the Engineering Explorer.

  2. This opens the following context menu:

  1. Click on the "Search EDE File for Devices" option.

  2. Select the EDE file in the file selector (e.g. EDEexample_EDE.csv - see EDE file templates).

  3. This opens the "Devices in File" table on the right of the Engineering Explorer while the browsing process is running. If the browsing process was successful and new devices could be found, they are listed in this table.

  1. Select the devices from the table, that should be created in WinCC OA.

  2. Click on the "Create Devices" button below the table in order to create the selected devices as datapoints in WinCC OA. If a specific device already exists in WinCC OA, this will not be created a second time.

Object exists

This device/object already exists in the WinCC OA project.

Object in Device

Currently this object/device only exists in the EDE file. It can be created in WinCC OA.

Object in DB

Object/device exists in WinCC OA, but not in the EDE file. Thus it should be deleted.

Click on the button to get information about the EDE file.
