Database Passwords (DB Admin & WinCC OA DB User)

There are two options to specify the database admin "adminPassword" and the WinCC OA database user "winccoaPassword". You can either specify the passwords in the C:\Siemens\Automation\WinCC_OA\3.18\/data/NGA/PostgreSQL/sql/db.windows.config or by entering the password into the password prompt of the power shell script winccoa_path/data/NGA/PostgreSQL/sql/create_database_windows.ps1 while creating the database on Windows.

CAUTION: In general 7bit ASCII characters can be used for passwords. However, only letters and numbers ([a-zA-Z0-9]) can be used for the passwords in the db.windows.config file.

Note:

The "adminPassword" is the password you used when installing the database and creating the database schema. If you change the "winccoaPassword", you also must change it in the NGA configuration, see chapter Storage of the DB Password
