WinCC OA-drivers - SYS/SEVERE - Invalid license, Number of allowed IOs exceeded

Enclosed you'll find the explanation for a log-message which occurs when a license-problem is detected during startup the driver. The log-message is written to the PVSS_II.log-file.

PVSS00sim (1), 2011.10.05 16:47:23.035, SYS, SEVERE, 105, Invalid license, Number of allowed IOs exceeded, Driver will shutdown after 30 minutes

Log-message with symbolic names:

PVSS00<drivername> (1), <TIMESTAMP>, SYS, SEVERE, 105, Invalid license, Number of allowed IOs exceeded, Driver will shutdown after 30 minutes

This log-message describes that the number of allowed _address-configs (IOs) is exceeded and therefore the driver is running in a demo-mode for 30 minutes. This means that the driver is running for 30 minutes without restrictions at the functionality and is stopped afterwards.

The number of allowed IOs is defined at the license with the keyword “ios = X”, X is an integer value with a range of 0-2000000000.

If the limit is reached you have to order a new license with an increased number of IOs or you have to deactivate or delete existing _address-configs.

When an extension of the license is required please get in contact with the responsible contact/vendor for your WinCC OA-installation for clarification and to get a new shield-file.
