Does a distributed system work with two different WinCC OA systems?

Distributed systems support the usage of different WinCC OA /PVSS II versions for each system. It is also possible to mix 32Bit and 64Bit projects. The only thing which needs to be considered is the general precondition for for setting up such a distributed system.

Note: When using a project with WinCC OA/PVSS II 3.1 the following patch P221 is needed. This version of WinCC OA is officially not supported and so the patch is not offered at the portal.

Note: 32 Bit WinCC OA versions 3.11 is only supported for engineering systems. For runtime systems always use 64Bit systems.

If you decide to connect a WinCC OA 3.1 with a newer version please contact the WinCC OA Support Team for further information and the patch P221.
