Hello,
on a project we are using the Excel Report and I'm wondering if it is necessary to install Microsoft Excel on the servers or if it is possible to install Excel only on the clients. (the report option from the WinCC OA installer will be installed on both).
There are no automatic reports and noone will execute an Excel report on the server itself.
From the help I'm not 100% sure if it is required.
One problem I see is with the configuration of the remote clients as "hosts" for the ComManager. Would this be possible to configure wihtout Excel?
Thank You
Version: WinCC OA 3.20
(the only version of Excel I have access to on my test system is not compatible and is throwing repeating error messages when opening the report, so I cannot simply test it myself currently)

Re: Excel Report - Excel installation on server necessary
The WinCC OA version and the Excel-Report must be installed on the machine where you want to run Excel.
On this machine you must create a WinCC OA client project where the connection to the server is configured.
