Background UI tries to attempt to sign in to SCADA by using the Windows user when communicating fails

Post by Piterskiy »

Dear Colleagues,
I've noticed that sometimes when communication between server and client interrupts I got the following messages in PVSS_II logs on my Secondary DRS system (SSS).

Code: Select all

WCCOActrl (1), 2021.12.20 12:24:43.431, CTRL, WARNING, 0, , User not found: <USER-NAME> login at <DRS_SSS-project name>:_Ui_<NUM>
WCCILdata (0), 2021.12.20 12:24:47.667, SYS, SEVERE, 229, The Manager <SCADA-CLIENT-MACHINE-NAME> is already running at host $2., MAN: (SYS: 0 Ui -num <NUM> CONN: 1(R))
USER-NAME is a pre-defined Windows user, that runs the Client UI on the client workstation. This user does not exist in SCADA, but exist in AD, and we use it just for launching the Application automatically after restart.

The messages happen only for the clients that are connected to the Secondary DRS project (background UIs).

We do not have such messages in normal operation or after client restart, only when communication breaks.

We are using Active Directory authentication login to WinCC OA, Single Sign-On option is deactivated for these workstations.
WinCC OA v.3.15.

No clue, why the background UI tries to attempt to sign in to SCADA by using the Windows user when communicating fails.

Some ideas will be highly appreciated.

I checked the code and the log message is written when a user logs on and an update of the user groups is made.
Only with this small part of information we cannot find the cause.
If you need more assistance please get in contact with your common WinCC OA support.
