Hi.I want to send SMS from WinCC OA to my iphone or android phone or any USB dongle.Currently I tried with iphone but it is showing me v24 error..I have done setting inside configuration and have defined COM port,baud rate,parameter as shown in WinCCOA help file.SMS center and PIN is also entered.but in log viewer it is showing that COM port is not opened.I have also run Sms.ctl script.Can you please guide me the steps through which I will be able to send SMS from WinCC OA?So that it shows me my device as active.PFA related error messages I am getting.

Is there a GSM modem connected to the specified port?

The supported devices can be found in the documentation under: Special functions -> SMS -> Requirements and installation.

Can I use normal mobile phone with USB?

No. The SMS function is very old. As gschijndel has already written, only certain devices can be used. Only the CEP CT63 NG is supported. No iPhone, no Android, no USB modem. If you want to use a different modem, you have to adapt the AT commands.

Actually you can. I have seen it in the past during basic training in Australia. Never tried it myself although

Yes, I would definitely not use a smartphone as modem in production environment

Hi,
I have configured my phone as modem..it is displayed in device manager and have configured in SMS panel accordingly.I am also using a script with sendSMS and as per help I have started sms,ctl also..but it shows me v24 error despite it is connected
