Hello,
I try to set up my first redundancy project with WinCC OA.
Redundancy is already configured and running.
During some tests I noticed that I couldn't open panels on the second host without problems.
I can start everything as usual, but there is a strange message when I want to open a panel "panel already in project".
If I choose the option "Open" I can edit the panel, but the top left icon is grey and if I want to save the panel threre is another error message:
"Write error - .. is not a file but a directory".
If I choose option "Open from Project", I get another error "Panel Read Error - ... is not a file but a directory".
So my question is: is it normal that I couldn't edit panels with the editor on the second host?
Host 1: Siemens IPC 427E, Windows 10, 64bit, WinCC OA v3.16 Patch 11
Host 2: VirtualMachine, Windows 10, 64bit, WinCC OA v3.16 Patch 11
The screenshots you can see in the attachment.
Kind regards
Houns

Re: GEDI on Host 2 (redundancy)
You error isn't REDU related. It looks like the user that runs GEDI has no OS Permissions to read or write files.
Re: GEDI on Host 2 (redundancy)
Hello again,
I tested it on a complete new system.
But I have the same problem.
The windows user is the same on both systems.
And within the GEDI I am logged in with "root".
Everything in the GEDI works (SystemMgm incl. redundancy overview, Para (editing values, creating DPs), vision, ...)
I can also create new panels and save and start them in QuickView.
But if I close them, I get the same error messages as described in the first post.
On the first redundancy partner everything works without problems.
Only if I use the GEDI on the second redundancy partner, I have the trouble....
Are there any restrictions for the GEDI on the second redundancy partner? I didn't find anything about it in the documentation....

Re: GEDI on Host 2 (redundancy)
Hello,
I found reason for my problem
The function for creating the WinCC OA project on the second host didn't work properly with our folder configuration.
Folders on Host 1:
C:\customer\visu\visu\_projectData_
Folders created by "copy redundant project":
C:\customer\visu\_projectData_
In one of the screenshots (panel read error) you can also see that the path is C:\Alpine\\ExVis\panels...
So one folder is missing.
I copy the project data to the correct target manually everything in GEDI is working.
I will try to see if the two consecutive folders with the same name cause the problem.
many thanks so far
