S7 connection error message

Post by slamkwon »

We are getting error messages that don't make any sense.

CAUSE:
- A few days ago, we added a few DP elements to an existing DP to our servers
- Later, we made active the config _address

RESULT:
- A portion of S7 connections suddenly display a SEVERE error in the log
- The S7 Driver settings are correct and data is being aggregated properly from all devices
- Rechecked the _address config changes to confirm there were no mistakes

The error pattern is repeated for arbitrary devices:

WCCOAs7 (1), 2019.09.18 13:24:49.570, SYS, SEVERE, 38/s7, Invalid device: M15A_VMB_30220_S7 number 417, Offset 0
WCCOAs7 (1), 2019.09.18 13:24:49.571, SYS, SEVERE, 38/s7, Invalid device: M15A_VMB_30220_S7 number 418, Offset 0
WCCOAs7 (1), 2019.09.18 13:24:49.572, SYS, SEVERE, 7/s7, No active connection for M15A_VMB_30220_S7
WCCOAs7 (1), 2019.09.18 13:24:49.572, SYS, SEVERE, 26/s7, Switching of active connection for M15A_VMB_30220_S7 has failed

Could you tell us why we are getting this error?
The error implies we have a connection problem with the device(s) but everything seems to be functional.

Thank you

Does the problem disappear if the set the _address config inactive?
Possibly you can get more useful information if the debug flag "-dbg 12" for the S7 driver is activated. With -dbg 12 you can get connection information in the S7 driver.
