V3.16 - ULC UX - Excel Report

Post by WalitziS »

Is it possible to work with Excel Reports via a ULC UX?
If yes, which functionalities were available (creating a template, using a template, open an existing report, ...).

No, this is not possible.
An existing report can be opened if you have Excel installed on the client and if accessing the already generated reports (as xls files) is possible.

When using the ULC UX client the UI is running on a different machine and only graphical information is transferred to the client and displayed in the web browser.
If you want to use the Excel Report on a client machine you have to make a WinCC OA installation.

I am using ULC Ux functionality and Excel is installed on client machine.
Pls suggest, how to access already generated reports (as xls files) from ULC UX ?

ULC-UX is a browser based User Interface. For security reasons, a browser does not have access to your local file system and can therefore not access your xls files.
You can only access your local xls files from the WinCC_OA User Interface if it would run as a native application locally, e.g. by using the Desktop-UI feature.

You can use the solution provided in my previous answer: An existing report can be opened if you have Excel installed on the client and if accessing the already generated reports (as xls files) is possible.

Excel needs to be started from the Windows Start Menu or by a shortcut.
You can also open a file explorer which refers to the directory where the xls-files are stored and open the generated reports.

If you want to show the user reports without the possibility to modify them you can save them as HTML file, see options in the Excel Report for the automatic protocol generation.
For details please have a look at the WinCC OA Documentation.
