Severe error in logviewer when starting two modbus driver

Post by rajkumar.krishnan »

Dear All,

I am getting an issue in log viewer

If two modbus drivers are started, and configured to use the same TCP port, the error message is very misleading:

WCCOAmod (2), 2014.07.18 16:22:24.594, IMPL, SEVERE, 54, Unexpected state, ModPrLayer, startServer, Cannot start Server
WCCOAmod (2), 2014.07.18 16:22:24.614, IMPL, WARNING, 54, Unexpected state, ModPrLayer, startServer, Under UNIX root privilege is required to open ports

Hello,

this error can occur when the port is already in use which is defined for the modbus-driver. The text is a bit misleading in this case.
Please define another (free) port for the second modbus driver.
