commonConnState

The commonConnState is a general enumeration that represents the connection states for all WinCC OA drivers.

Enumeration

Enum Constant Value Description
Undefined -1 No matching common connection state could be found
UndefinedByDriver 0 e.g. if connection state was never written
NotConnected 1 e.g. driver has been stopped when connection has been set to active
Connecting 2 Driver tries to acquire connection
NotActive 3 Connection has been deactivated by the user
Disconnecting 4 Driver tries to disconnect from the device
Failure 5 Common connection failure
WaitForReconnect 9 Driver is waiting before trying to reconnect
Connected = 256 256 Driver is connected
ConnectedFirstDevFirstCon 257 Redundant hardware: driver is connected and uses the first connection of first device for active communication
ConnectedFirstDevReduCon 258 Redundant hardware: driver is connected and uses second connection of first device for active communication
ConnectedReduDevFirstCon 259 Redundant hardware: driver is connected and uses first connection of second device for active communication
ConnectedReduDevReduCon 260 Redundant hardware: driver is connected and uses second connection of second device for active communication
GeneralQuery 261 Driver performs general query
GetConfigData 262 Driver acquires device configuration data, e.g. through online browsing

Value Ranges Description

  • State values 0-255 indicate not-connected states
  • State values 256-511 indicate connected states
  • State -1 indicates an undefined state, i.e. the actual connection state is unknown. This state is only used internally for error detection and not written to DPE.
Note:
The currently undefined status values are reserved for future use. A driver does not have to use all status values, but if a value is used, it has the defined meaning.
