Requirements and Installation

Requirements

To use WinCC OA with Docker, you need to create a dedicated build image. For details on creating the image as well as the installation, see the chapter Docker Support.
For licensing WinCC OA within a docker container, a stand-alone CodeMeter license server is required.

The CodeMeter license server can either be running on a separate server or as service on the host machine which provides the Docker environment.

A CodeMeter license server requires the installation and corresponding server configuration of the CodeMeter runtime. The runtime is provided as part of the WinCC OA setup or can be downloaded, for Linux only, from winccoa.com.
