Question: The process "influxd" doesn't start.

05.10.2026 21:30 by Peter Makyta

Hi,
Please, do you know why the process "WCCOAnextgenarch" starts, but the background daemon executable process "influxd" doesn't ?
As a consequence, the NGA Frontend Manager and the NGA Backend Layer connection is broken and all queries for archive data throw a sever message.
The WinCC Log viewer show this warning message only when a project start ... no other warnings nor severs.
"WCCOAnextgenarch(118), 2026.10.05 21:20:05.031, IMPL, WARNING, 69, Database error, The provided backupHostConnectionString is invalid, backup and restore of segments will be unavailable and segments exceeding their retention period will be deleted without backup. (from System1:_NGA_B_InfluxDB_R)"
I'm 100% sure the give backup path exists. The warning is just a result of something what happened before evaluating "backupHostConnectionString". I don't see a root cause for it.

br,
Peter

In general I would not recommend and also change the project path. Using C:\Users\... may be related to permission issues, service access issues, etc.
Did you already test when placing the project on e.g. C:\<project>?

Hi,
I've tried to put the project as you wrote. Unfortunately, I've not recognized any change.
I've done a couple of test to verify some combinations. Here're are:
# NOK
#event = "etcswsserver1:4998,etcswsserver12:4998$etcswsserver2:4998,etcswsserver22:4998"
#data = "etcswsserver1:4897,etcswsserver12:4897$etcswsserver2:4897,etcswsserver22:4897"
#event = "etcswsserver1:4998$etcswsserver2:4998"
#data = "etcswsserver1:4897$etcswsserver2:4897"
#event = "etcswsserver1:4998$etcswsserver2"
#data = "etcswsserver1:4897$etcswsserver2"
#event = "192.168.1.103:4998$192.168.1.104:4998"
#data = "192.168.1.103:4897$192.168.1.104:4897"
#event = "etcswsserver1:4998,etcswsserver12$etcswsserver2:4998,etcswsserver22:4998"
#data = "etcswsserver1:4897,etcswsserver12$etcswsserver2:4897,etcswsserver22:4897"

# OK
#event = "etcswsserver1:4998"
#data = "etcswsserver1:4897"
#event = "192.168.1.103:4998"
#data = "192.168.1.103:4897"
#event = "etcswsserver1$etcswsserver2:4998"
#data = "etcswsserver1$etcswsserver2:4897"
event = "etcswsserver1,etcswsserver12$etcswsserver2:4998,etcswsserver22:4998"
data = "etcswsserver1,etcswsserver12$etcswsserver2:4897,etcswsserver22:4897"

I was able to run project in all cases. However, those cases below the tag "NOK" are NOT able to connect the NGA Frontend Manager and the NGA Backend Layer.
I think it's a bug or a limitation about a string format. The format "<ip_1/host_1>:<port>$<ip_2/host_2>:<port>" CAN'T be processed by WCCOAnextgenarch properly.

Can anybody verify that, please ?
(a project uses NGA(InfluxDB) and SQLite)
