Hi all,
a client's machine running WinCCOA V3.14 on MS Windows 7 (single machine, part of a distributed system) crashed due to a thunderstorm. After reboot the project did not start. The data manager (started with option "-repair alerts") logged the following message:
Fatal 106 Data base repair had not been repaired
and the project was stopped again.
When starting the data base manager with option "-repair on", the project started without problems.
In order to solve the problem with the alert data base we stopped the project again and executed the command
WCCOAtoolRepairDb.exe -chkafs
It did not seem to work. No message was displayed about the execution status and the next project start with option "-repair on" did not work either.
Has anyone an idea what we could do to repair the alert data base?
Regards,
Sabine Walitzi

The repair option "-repair alerts" can only be used to solve an inconsistent state of alerts which are reported during runtime with the log message "no gone alert between two came ones".
If you do not see these log messages during startup the option must not be used.
Do you have a backup of the database (created before the incorrect shutdown)?
If such a backup is available you can use it to start the project.
For the analysis we would need more detailed information, e.g. complete log files for the project to see all the log messages.
If you need further information please get in contact with your common WinCC OA support.
