Connecting more than 255 S7-1200 PLCs to a WinCC OA server.

Post by andrek012 »

Hello,

connecting S7-1200 PLC works fine for the first 255 instances. However when adding more PLC's there appears a logging "invalid device ..."

Adding a second S7 driver instance (in the console) does not solve the problem. Adding "[S7] deviceOffset = 255" in the config file, results in error loggings for all PLC's with DevNr smaller than 255.

Can anybody explain how exactly a second S7 driver instance should be handled/used?

You will need to configure the deviceOffset only for the second S7 driver by specifying the manager/driver number in the section like '[s7_]' (or use +config on the second driver).

BTW: The S7plus driver does not need a second driver and offset config entry to handle more than 255 PLCs.
