Restore alert history in new database

Post by hbraun »

Hello all,

I recently had to restore a damaged database from an old ASCII-Export. Everything is working except of the alert history. I manually copied all of the alert history directories (db/wincc_oa/al*, e.g. al1665999644) from the damaged database to the new database directory in file explorer but the system does not seem to recognize them.

Is there any way to get the alert history into the new database?

OA version is 3.16 P19

Regards,

HBraun

There is no (easy) solution available to make the alert directories accessible again.
To avoid this problem in future we recommend to configure a cyclic online backup of the database. In case of a failure the backup database can be used instead of creating a new database and importing the ASCII file.

OK thank you. Suppose we will use the online backup in the future.
