WinCC OA RPMs and Dependencies

Post by winthrop.polk »

I spent days researching, but it isn't clear... what I know is that when I follow the installation instructions for WinCC OA 3.16 I have many missing nested depend.

Basically I need to know where to get the dependencies for the current version of 3.16 p28, and I need to know how to keep them updated explicitly and clearly.

I am on a secured network, we use satellite server but no external repos, all are internal. I can get the RPMs to our own satellite server to distribution around our industrial site, but I need a list and links... or something... what am I missing?

Example of perceived issue:
- libminizip.so.1()(64bit) is supposedly required
- there are no RH RPMs that provide this, minizip does.... why is this the dependency and not minizip?

libminizip -> minizip http://rpm.pbone.net/info_idpl_55096597 ... 4.rpm.html

When I try to install WinCC OA via yum. It tries to download the following packages:

Code: Select all

SDL gcc-c++ libXScrnSaver libstdc++-devel minizip postgresql-libs unixODBC

Yeah, I suspect that is for Ubuntu or something... I don't think the same packages are available for RH. We have to install minizip to get the missing dependency.

I clould install minizip without any problems using RHEL 7.

Code: Select all

yum install minizip
minizip.x86_64 0:1.2.7-19.el7_9

I'm guessing you have non RH 7 standard repos configured or perhaps this was added recently because they froze our local repos years ago.... funny though, version 17 not 19 is what is needed for 3.16.
