Post by jonred »

Hello,

A client call us today telling that they could't open the excel report.
The excel just got frozen, and reviewing the log i saw this type of messages:

I have attached the log.

Then, i noticed that the secondary server (is a redudant system) was down, and in the primary server the Data manager state was 3 (Violet).

I decided to reboot the servers, but that kind of messages continued in the initialization, like this one:
"PVSS00data (0), 2020.02.25 12:40:47.540, SYS, SEVERE, 69, Database error, DataManTask, dbError, RAIMA Database Error *** Code:-29 (bad ROM error code), errno:13 (Permission denied)"
After the init, all looked like normal, but when triying to initiate the UI, no user is recognized, i always get the "wrong user or password".

I tried the method described here: https://www.winccoa.com/knowledge-base/ ... store.html, but no result.

How can i oslve this problem? and what was the cause?

Thank you very much

Best regards

The Knowledge base article refers to a different problem. The log messages in the article are not the same as in your project. When you get RAIMA errors you have to read several log entries to get the full information.

In the project it looks like the database part for the original values /(lastval directory) is corrupted. As the usernames and passwords are stored as original values you probably get the information that the username and password is wrong.
If there is a chance to fix the problem we cannot see only by reading the log messages.

Hello,

Finally, i just recovered the last backup of the database and all went OK.

I don't know why could the DB got corrupted. My only clue is that, apparently, there was a power cut off thar affected the secondary server. This cicrcunstance could lead to the DB corruptio?

Thank you.

A power cut of the machine where WinCC OA is running can lead to a corrupted database.
Also parts of the operating system or other files which are in access when the power is cut can be affected leading to other problems with the machine.
Therefore it is recommended to install a UPS on a plant system.
