OA Linux, how to start video server

Post by tmalone »

Now that we fully support Linux with our OA Video solution, the documentation is lax in how exactly you get the vimacc server started. It does not even say where the components are located.

Can anyone give us the list of steps involved to get the video server started on a CentOS computer?

Hello Todd,

please take a look into the documentation chapters
- "Installation/Linux/Installation under Linux" as well as
- "AddOns/Video/Basics/Requirements and Installation"

The installation of the vimaccOA RPM works the same way as for the WinCC OA RPMs.

The vimaccOA installation path is "/opt/Accellence/vimacc/" by default.

From this point on the configuration works the same way as for Windows.

With best regards,
Martin

installation seems to be OK. I am familiar with the configuration tools.

It seems the video services are not started. They are installed, but the configuration tools do not find the server (green boxes in video overview configuration)

Hi Todd,

did you've got it running?
Do you need any further help?

Please do not hesitate to contact Martin or me to make it running.
