Maxium nuber of DPE\'s in a DPT
Does anyone know if there is a maxium number of Data Point Elements that can be configured in a Data Point Type.
I have one that I can not add another DPE to it unless I delete an existing one. This one has nearly 15,000 configs in it.
I don't know how many DPEs are in it.
Thanks

Hello,
if I remember correctly the maximum number of DPE's (counting nodes and leafs) in one dp-type is 32767.
With the dpNames() command you can get the number of elements, when a datapoint is already existing for this dp-type.

Hello,
just as an additional information.
It is very uncommon to use datapoint types with such a complex structure and high number of dp-elements.
Normally a dp-type has not more than 200--300 elements, which is already quite big.

Re: Maxium nuber of DPE\'s in a DPT
If I understand this correctly A "Data Point Type" contains "Data point Elements". Data Point Elements contain "Configs"
So I have a Data Point Type with 291 Data Point Elements and 14,975 Configs.
I can not add another Data Point Element unless I delete an existing one.
I get this error "PVSS00ascii (1), 2014.05.29 08:28:01.188, IMPL, WARNING, 54, Unexpected state, PersDpIdentification, handleManipTypeChangeMsg, sorry - change of element-type not implemented"
I get the same error is I to make the change in the Datapoint Parameterization instead of using the ascii_in command.
Thanks

Re: Maxium nuber of DPE\'s in a DPT
Yes, you're right.
A datapoint type defines the structure (nodes + leafs = dp-elements) for the instances = datapoints.
The datapoint then has the given structure where you can add configs to the dp-elements.
If your calculation of dp-elements and configs is correct you would have more than 50 configs at every element. This is not possible because there are not more than 16 configs which can be added to a dp-element.
This log-message occurs when you try to modify the datatype (bool, float, int, ....) of an exisiting datapoint element.
If this modification for the datapoint type shall be done with an ASCII-file you have to remove the information for the element-ID from the ASCII-file (number behind the "#" sign). Only the datatype needs to be specified.

Please look at the attached file and see if I am calling the parts of the PARA the correct names.
Thanks

There was no file attached, therefore we cannot have a look at it.
Maybe it is easier to create an official support request. Handling the information and attachments is a little bit easier with the official support tools.
