Bug database

Post by ragrawal »

There are patches available for every version of the PVSS, it becomes difficult to choose from them which to install in a running plant. One has to read all the readme files to know which bug is being fixed by which patch. So it would be nice if there is a list of all the bugs / features, description of the bug / feature and corrosponding patch number.

Dear Customer,

about one year ago we changed the patch-strategy.
Bugfixes for problems which affect the standard-package of PVSS / WinCC OA are available as summary patches. Normally such a summary patch is released every month. If no bugfixes were necessary in the time since the last summary patch no summary patch is generated for this month.
If bugfixes are necessary for AddOns, e.g. Disaster Recovery System, AdvS7-library, .... those changes are made in an own patch.

You only have to install the summary patches and the patches for the version and AddOns used in your project.
There is no need to install patches for functionality not used in your project. Also it is not necessary to have a look at patches for a version which you are not using.

At the patch announcement you see a list of affected files and a list of service request numbers fixed which a specific patch. At this list of service request numbers you can see if a problem reported by you/your company is fixed within a patch.

Best Regards
