Hi,
I am implementing a CCTV system with Windows 7, 64 bit, WinCC OA version 3.14 with all video services running on a single host.
For recording I perform following steps:
1. 'Video Server 1' configured as 'Recording Server' in System configuration.
2. Under 'System Components', I create an object Record1 (under Recording) and select 'Video Server 1' as 'Recording host'.
3. In camera configuration, under Recording, I select 'Record1'
The stream shows error and I get warning,
WCCOAvideoOA (1), 2016.06.16 12:42:59.950, PARAM,WARNING, 1042/voa_general, VideoManager, generateVimaccConfig: Video datapoint 'Record1' contains invalid or unknown host '' in its controller element
Please help to resolve this to enable video recording.
Regards,
Sajid

Re: Video Recording
did you run the vimaccStartServices as administrator?
While the installation does create the icons, they don't work unless they are started as administrator. Check properties of the icon and click "advanced". Be sure to check the box "Run as administrator".
I assume you have the manager for video running in the console.

Re: Video Recording
Yes, I do run the vimaccAtartServices as administrator and Video Manager was also running.
I am not clear about your reference to icons (if other than in relation to vimacc). Could you please clarify.
Please also provide any further hints.

Re: Video Recording
When testing, I do not run those as OS Services. I just start and stop them, because some errors in configuration can stop the service, and you don't have an easy way to restart it. There is a new group of icons created called "vimacc Videomanagement System". Change the permissions for each of these icons to "run as administrator" and use them to start/restart the camera services to test.
Also, in the Video Object Explorer, the System Components overview... do you have any red boxes here? That could be a clue as to what is the underlying cause of an error.

Re: Video Recording
I started the services individually from c:\\vimacc\\bin as administrator such as AccVimaccConfigurationCenter.exe. All the services start and it gives better information overall but I still get the previous error/warning.
Also, in the System Components there are no red boxes. However, when I attempt to record, the services box goes red.

Re: Video Recording
Hi,
I am still not able to enable video recording. My assumptions are:
1. Video recording does not require a video license to work.
2. 'Video Server 1' can be configured as a 'recording server' in video 'System Configuration' and 'recording host' under recording tab in 'Video Object Explorer'.
3. There is no installation required for an external (other than WinCC OA) video recording software.
Please provide any further help to resolve the issue.

Re: Video Recording
Dear Sajid,
please check the configuration of the used hostnames.
- Which hostname you used for "Video Server 1" in the system configuration?
- If you do not use "localhost" there, what is recommended, then you need to set this value also in the "AccVimaccConfig.conf" (under C:\\vimacc\\config) for the value "Server1".
