pmonGetState() reports 0 for all managers when started from UI and the project is running as a service
We want to use pmonGetState() to show the operational state of a control manager within a status panel on a project which is running as service on a windows machine. If the same project is running in "normal" mode pmonGetState() reports the manager states correctly in the UI. If pmonGetSta...

Automated User Login without SSO
Dear all, We have the customer request to log on a user with minor rights automatically during UI startup. If possible we want to realise this by means of the WinCC OA User authentication (with login framework). We don't want to use the SSO because user change should be possible without Windows logo...

WinCC OA Server on Azure VM
Dear all, we tried for a test installation to run a project on a Microsoft Azure VM with Windows 10 Pro. Installation of WinCC OA (3.16 P20) and the project is fine. Directly on the VM it runs. After this we wanted to connect via Desktop UI, the VM has a fixed public IP and also an URL. The http and...

OPC UA connection to server impossible after update from 3.16 P006 to P017
Dear all, we upgraded an installation of WinCC OA from 3.16 P006 to P017. Now the connection to some of the connected OPC UA Servers is not possible anymore. Basically with anonymous login and without security strategy "none" it works fine, but the servers don't accept control commands fro...

Inconsistent behavior of modules opened from vision main module
<t>Dear all,<br/> <br/> we found a strange behavior of modules opened from main module in case of changing the logged on user during Vision ui is running. If the user logs on directly from start of the UI the behavior of the opened module is as expected. They open an stay in front of the main base p...

Re: Modbus Driver Warning: Exception Code for Function Code 1
Thanks for the answers.
We checked the active configs by the following pattern: *M.?.1.*, the answer was/is empty. Before we used the asterisk and copied the answer out of the Editor into Excel for better Analysis...the result was the same: no FC1 used.
Best regards
Daniel

Re: Using the modbus driver with local RS485 COM Port?
Thanks for the answers. We already use Modbus RTU via RTU/TCP Gateway. The idea was to use the anyway existing RS485 COM Ports on the IPC for some "slow" sensor signals. If this not possible we will continue with the Gateway
