Update Notes - Version 3.21

Notes to consider when updating older projects to Version 3.21.

Config Entries

NTLM

When upgrading a Project from an earlier version to version 3.21, it must be kept in mind that the default value of the config entry [general] useWindowsNTLM was changed from "true" to "false".

Update of the PostgreSQL® Schema

Update the schema to PostgreSQL® version 3.0 - see chapter PostgreSQL® Database Maintenance - WinCC OA-managed Database and PostgreSQL® Database Maintenance - DBAdmin-Managed Database.

OPC Foundation Core Components Distributable Update

When installing a newer version of WinCC OA on a Windows machine that already has an older version, you should manually uninstall the existing OPC Foundation Core Components Redistributable (x64) before starting the new installation.

If the older redistributable is not removed, you may encounter issues during the update of the OPC Foundation Core Components software. This can cause the classic WinCC OA OPC components to stop working properly.

If this happens, running a "Repair" on the newly installed OPC Foundation Core Components Redistributable usually fixes the problem.
