DPT configuration panel

Select a datapoint type that has been created from scratch and click on the Configure button in the AC configuration panel:

Figure 1. Panel for configuration of AC Types

AC datapoint types created from scratch are configured in this panel. The following buttons are provided in this panel:

  • New level

Creates a new compression level and opens the configuration panel for setting the parameters for this level.

  • Delete level

This deletes a compression level. You can only ever delete the last level since the earlier levels may act as a source for other levels. You are prompted to confirm the deletion.

  • Structure

Displays the datapoint structure in a window.

  • Configure

This button (or double-clicking on a row) opens the AC type configuration panel (see also New level).

  • Create DP

Opens another panel where you can create a datapoint name for the datapoint type in question. After creating a datapoint, the parameter settings are immediately assigned to this datapoint and you have to click on the button ==> DPEs for the delays for statistical functions to be calculated newly.

  • Exceptions

Opens another panel where you can specify the datapoints that are not meant to adopt the parameter settings.

  • Delete DP

Opens another panel where you can specify the datapoint for deletion.

  • ==> DPEs

Transfers all parameter settings to all datapoints and all type references of the data point type. The associated archive processes must be running, otherwise an error message appears.

  • Help

Opens this page of the Online Help.

  • Save

Saves the parameter settings for the datapoint type and creates the sample datapoint _mp_typename.

  • Close

This closes your configuration process.

Working with the panel

The following links will open the listed examples:

Example Description
Creating a new level In this example, you create a new compression level.
Configuring a new level Here you assign archives, intervals and functions to the level.
Defining exception datapoints Here you specify what datapoints will not adopt the archiving settings and functions of the DPT (optional).
Deleting a datapoint Here you remove datapoints that have been created.
Creating a datapoint In this example, you create datapoints.
Transferring setting to DPs (=>DPEs) This example shows how to transfer the structure and all your settings to all required datapoints.
