Disaster recovery

Post by amitgolhani »

Hello,

Can we prepare Disaster recovery solution without Oracle RAC? Any suggestion or third party tool if data replication between clusters of Oracle database is not supported by WinCC OA.
Please let me know if we can use WinCC OA FWD functionality to replicate data in Oracle databases. If yes, suggest how to achieve same in Disaster recovery context?

I guess that if the historical values/alerts may be (partially) lost after a disaster and you need only the current state of the system, it would be possible to use DRS without Oracle (RAC).
You could always store a backup of the historical values/alerts at a remote location.

Hello,

Please find attached diagram of DRS. Here in PSS we want to use 2 Oracle database instead of one. Please suggest whether this solution can be achieved without using Oracle RAC? Suggest steps to achieve replication of Oracle database in PSS without using Oracle RAC.
