Summary and related chapters
Standard symbols are a symbol library with the aid of which you can display processes quickly and easily. Note the following distinction:
simple standard symbols linked to any datapoint types and their datapoint elements (according to the data type)
complex standard symbols with their own datapoint types. These are used to generate new datapoints whose datapoint elements are configured.
A number of panels have been developed for the standard symbols that are intended to facilitate operation.
Reference editor: available for every element; launches automatically when you insert the symbol
Equipment operational panel for displaying and operating at runtime.
Information panel: detailed information on datapoint elements, alerts and events at runtime.
Simulation panel: (not for all objects) for simulating a peripheral device
Properties: for configuration of objects at runtime
