Detailed information on group alerts
This information is intended for advanced users of WinCC OA and experienced engineers.
Whenever STD_symbols are used to create panels in module GEDI (see also STD_symbols, basics), the sample datapoint for the object concerned is copied and inserted with the configured name. This datapoint has a node labeled "alert" whose elements are assigned alert-handling information.
The datapoint element "sumalert" is the crucial datapoint element for the group alert facility. It summarizes and saves the configured alert-handling data for this datapoint under the "alert" node. If an alert occurs in one of these elements then it sets the alert-handling bit on the "sumalert" datapoint element and undergoes further processing in the internal datapoint "_SumAlertPanel" (see Datapoint types and datapoints).
This results in the group alert being displayed in the panel topology by means of the relevant symbols below the direct-selection buttons. Predefined symbols are supplied with WinCC OA and are included in the symbol catalog of the GEDI graphics editor. You can find further information on these symbols in the chapter STD_symbols - STD_PANELS.
If you open the alert panel (using the independent-panel buttons in the navigation bar of the base panel) and then click on the ">" column (see Alert table) then the associated panel or the panel selected from the dialog box, is opened in the topology if the "mainModule" module is open.
Note that sum alerts are only archived if they contain an alert class. If an alert class is not assigned to a sum alert, the alert is not archived.
