OK and Apply greyed out in DPE Peripherie address panel for Input/Output DPE (Master dp instance)

Hi,

I am having an issue in an instance of master data point to tick the Active check box in Peripherie address and then click on OK or Apply because the two buttons are greyed out. This works if the DPE is not an instance of Master Data point and the options are not greyed out. However when creating a Master data point and have a Input/Output as direction of the DPE address, in the instance it doesn't allow me to press Ok or Apply and both are greyed out. in the Master Data Point itself an output can not be made Active!! it looks like WinCC OA doesn't allow the Output or Input/Output data points being made Active in the Master data point.

So now I can't make the DPE address Active in the instance of master data point and I can't make it Active in Master Data point itself.

Looks like this doesn't depend on the protocol selected, I am using a custom made driver so in the Power Config select the Free Address or Fixed Address (tried both) and then Configure the Peripherie address. I tested this with a OPC protocol and same results. This should be very common use of the data points where you have a input/output or output type and you assign address to it and then want to make it active in a instance of a master data point.

Is this a Bug? Am I missing something here. I have attached screenshots

Hi Ray,

This is standard behavior.

See your section about master DP during basic training:

- When you insert a master dp, then (depending of powerconfig used) you can only change few parameters or none. For changing them, you need to right click on DPE and edit powerconfig to access special screen.

Thanks for that, I found the setting in the instances and I can make them Active in there, I am sure we can use the Ascii manager to mass enable the Active Address for Input/Output types (might be a painful exercise). I guess I was wondering if there is a way to allow enabling Active address in master data points for Input/Output or output types (I know this is not possible by default) something like a config setting.
