Image of harddisk and communication card
Hello, I have following questions. 1. Is it possible to take a image backup from server, when server is running and online? 2. What kind of interface card I can use, if I have example RK512 protocol or IEC 60870-5-101? Yours Tapio Järnfors

Hello,
if you do make a backup of your WinCC OA project you can use the Online Backup functionality.
For details please have a look at the online help: System Management --> Database --> Online Backup.
While the WinCC OA project is running a backup of the database with external tools can cause problems when different processes try to access the database files.
Therefore creating an image while the project is running is not supported.
There is no recommendation for specific network interface cards when using a serial connection.

Hello,
if you are using IEC 60870-5-101 you have to define the device (serial connection, COM-port) for the driver. There is no possibility to define an IP-address.
For details concerning the configuration of the IEC-driver please have a look at the WinCC OA online-help: Drivers --> IEC.

With the config entry 'device_101' it is possible to specify an IP-address, see online help: Drivers --> IEC --> IEC driver config file --> IEC 101 - Extension: Serial communication over TCP connection
