disable ULC UX

Post by johanningmann »

Hello,
is it possible to disable ULC UX?

We would like to use the mobile ui and desktop ui but not the ulc ux.
Can you let me how to realize this?

Kind regards

Hello,

to run a Desktop UI just connect with your client device to the WinCC OA server project via web browser and a corresponding download page for the Desktop UI is opened. Select the download package matching your clients operating system and install the downloaded package.
Please note, that the web server needs to be running for downloading the Desktop UI as well as for using the Desktop UI.

If you want to connect to ULCUX you have to enter the proper URL [/data/ulc/start.html] into browser. If you change the start.html the website will not appear anymore.

best regards,
Andreas

Hello,
thanks for the quick reply.
I used the [httpServer] config entry to change the panel which will start if somebody is trying to use the ULC UX but this is still not satisfying. The goal should be if possible to disable the ULC UX functionality. Can you let me know how I can change the URL or as mentioned before disable the ULC UX function?

Thank you very much in advance for your support.

Kind regards

You can use the config entry "uiStartPermissionBit" in the "httpServer" section to define a permission bit which must be set for the user trying to start the ULC.
If it's not set, the user can not start the ULC.

Another option is to disallow the URL by modifying the webclient_http.ctl script, adding
httpSetPermission("/UI_WebSocket", makeMapping("denyUsers", "*"));
