Importing PLC Tags from TIA Portal v14 into WinCCOA 3.15 using S7+ Driver

Post by lbonassin »

I’m trying to import the PLC tags from a TIA Portal Project into a WinCCOA 3.15 application. The videos I keep finding online showing how to do this have a different button option compared to what I’m getting.

The screenshot attached shows an “Export” button where all the videos have “Importer” in its place.

It seems like this is the only way to import the tags, since after this they become visible in Para.

Any idea how to get the TIA Importer function working properly?

Video I’m referring to:

Hi,
Just had look into my 3,15 P010. Button have label "Importer".

Are you using latest patch as well? Maybe there was some mismatch text in the previous version...

I'll try updating it and see.

The button itself still goes to an Export feature, so it's not just the text that's off. Hopefully the update fixes this. I'm going nuts.

Updating to P010 fixed the Export/Importer dilemma. But now, all I'm able to import are function block data, not PLC Tags.

When I go to Symbolics, I can see the PLC Tags listed under my station's name. These do not show up under the Importer menu.

At this point, I wouldn't even be opposed to manually addressing each datapoint to a hardware address. I just need to get something working.

Do you have any ideas for how to get the PLC tags to show up in the Importer window, or maybe how to do direct addressing?

Thanks!

The TIA importer works ONLY for FBs (function blocks) and UDTs (user defined types) together with their instance DBs (data block instances). This is also written in the WinCC OA documentation. Reason for this is : ONLY with this datatypes it´s possible to derive a typeinstance relationship and automatically generate DPT´s and DP´s in WinCC OA. This assignment is missing and therefore not possible when using "conventional DBs".

For "conventional DBs" you have to use the WInCC OA conventional parameterization Tools (PARA/ASCII-FIles / PowerConfigs ...)

yea I ended up seeing that later on. I was thinking it covered PLC Tags as well.

I just made a function block to update the same things as the PLC Tags and had it run in OB1. I can now view everything easily from the HMI/WinCCOA.

Thank you for the reply!
