Operator station got disconnected from the main Server.

Post by Chandan »

Hi Experts,
We are having main server to which 5 clients are connected through WinccOA UI application through Ethernet.
The PLC we are using is S7 1500 and it is connected to the main server over Ethernet.

From last few days I am facing problem that sometimes one of the client gets disconnected from the main server
and in the log viewer I can see message "No reply from PLC2 (It is PLC for that particular section)".
When this is happening at that time I have checked the PLC is in run mode and even I can ping the
PLC from the Server station. This means that there is no any issue related to the hardware or the cable.

What could be the reasons for this. Please suggest so t I can check that I can troubleshoot the issue.

Will be highly obliged for the prompt reply.

Regards
Chandan.

Hi,

Ping doesnt mean that everything is working. As far as I know S7 protocol can be blocked by firewall but ping would still work. Try to disable all security software (firewall, virus scan) and see if problem still occurs.

Problem can also be time sync if you use the subscription mode from 1500, just ensure that clock are sync as well.

Last point, ensure that your latency is not too high, otherwise it may happen that your connection timeout is not fitting and thus WinCC OA lost connection after it.
