V3.15 P007 Oddity in backup dialog

Post by willw »

Hi,

Seeing a small oddity in the Backup Panel. When I set a time of day for automatic execution, the main panel displays a time in the 'Next automatic execution' field one hour earlier than the actual time requested.

Image

This is running on a Windows 7 machine with its time zone set to London UTC +00, and Daylight Saving Time enabled. However, no DST should be applied at the moment.

The backup does run: at the time set up, rather than the time predicted by the 'Next automatic execution' field.

I have tested it and I have seen the same deviation for the configured time.
This small bug was reported to our development department.

It looks like in your last sentence a information missing. For my opinion you wanted to write "The backup does not run ...".

As far as I know when changing the time for the Online Backup you have to restart the CTRL manager starting the script list pvss_scripts.lst.
Otherwise the timed function is not running.

Please check if the automatic online backup works if the CTRL manager is restarted.

Thanks for the follow up.

No, my last sentence is as I intended, even if it was not clear. ;-)

I was trying to say that setting up the automatic backup DOES work, but it runs at the time set in the 'Sync time of backup' dialog. NOT the time predicted by the 'Next automatic execution' field.

You are quite correct about the CTRL manager needing to be restarted. I knew this, although it did take me a while to notice this in the help text. If you are changing the code for that panel anyway, you might consider putting in a reminder to do this.

I have fixed the problem that the backup time is not set correctly.
The bugfix will be available with the next patch for WinCC OA 3.15.
