WinCC OA - MS Meltdown Patch compatibility tests

Summary: WinCC OA 3.15 is compatible with the MS Patch (Meltdown – Patch https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4056890)

Testobjects:

SW: WinCC OA 3.15 P007
HW: Desktop Computer M730 – Intel Xeon CPU E5 2,5GHz
OS: Windows Server 2016

MS Patch: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4056890

Tests performed:

Performance Tests: No differences between the performance test results before and after the Patch installation
Functional Tests: No differences between the functional test results before and after the patch installation
GUI-Tests: No differences between the GUI-Squish test results before and after the Patch installation

Tests not performed:

Behavior of AMD CPUs.
Behavior of SSD HDs.


Attention:

Different IT-news web sites (c't, heise.de) are reporting performance issues on different PC hardware configurations.
So it is strongly recommended to run performance-tests yourself on your hardware to be sure it is working fine with the MS Patch.
