How to display Checkbox items in a grid like layout

Hi all,

Is it possible to display checkbox items in a grid like layout (perhaps through a stylesheet)?

I am aware of the vertical/horizontal orientation option but I was wondering if it is possible to have them arranged in columns and rows (like a 3x4 matrix)?

As far as I've seen it is not possible to define rows + columns for a checkbox and its items.
