Hello together,
for a sample Installation we want to connect directly to some SIMOCODE pro V EIP devices via Ethernet IP without having an AB PLC in-between. The SIMOCODEs will act as EIP Adapter WinCC OA as EIP Scanner. Does the EIP Driver(V3.14) Support direct Connection to EIP Adapters?
Thanks a lot
Best Regards
Daniel

Re: Direct connection to SIMOCODE Pro V EIP
Hello Daniel,
The EIP driver supports direct connection to Allen Bradley / Rockwell EIP adapters, using explicit messaging.
It will talk to ControlLogix / FlexLogix symbolic devices as well as older PCCC-protocol devices such as PLC5, SLC, and MicroLogix.
If a SIMOCODE pro V implements EIP 100% compatibly with AB's implementation, (and also does not require the use of implicit messaging) then it could work.
Unfortunately the EIP "standard" is very loose, and allows all kinds of variations. I do not currently have a SIMOCODE device to test this with.
