Hello everybody,
I'm planning to migrate the Oracle database server on my WinCC 3.11 environment.
Is there some "best practice" to follow in order to minimize the system downtime?
In particular, I'd like to understand if it's better to apply the new setting by applying a new RDB_config.sql with the new RAC parameters, or if it's better to manually modify the database settings on the tables contained in the PVSSRDB schema.
Thank you in advance for your answers
Fabio

Re: Oracle DB server migration to RAC environment
Hi Fabio,
can you please explain what you want to do more detailed.
Do you want to install a new Oracle Version or even new Oracle Servers ?

Re: Oracle DB server migration to RAC environment
Hi Christof,
in the end I moved my former single-node Oracle DB to a RAC configuration by only changing the TNSNAMES.ORA file on my WinCC OA Servers, and everything worked fine by configuring the connection using the RAC scan IPs.
Thank you for the answer
