We all know the nice feature of color tables. We can define colors by name and the GEDI user is able to use this color (with respect to gradients, which are currently not updated, when the color value is changed).
My proposal is, to do the same for fonts. Currently we have to use the font box and always have to click on several controls to define the correct font.
It would be nice, if i can define the settings for a font and save it under a name.
The user can then use this name without using the font dialog box.
Changing a font settings should update the concrete font (as in the use of the colors).
Globalization should be kept in mind (e.g. using a different font in Taiwan, than in Germany)
Advantage: We can define best known fonts (with their size, font name, ...) for a project and no one is able to choose the wrong font size of font name anymore.
Hope this feature would find its way in WinCCOA.
With regards,
Frank Lindecke

AFAIK on a Linux system, this can already be done with fontconfig, systemwide. Just define an alias of another font.

It would be very nice to have this functionality in OA.
We have implemented a control function in our projects to have a similar feature!
