WinCC OA 3.14 Upd 10: Minor bug registering services not to be autostarted

Post by fandersen »

Hi all,

I just found a bug in WinCC OA 3.14 Upd 10 concerning registering pmon as a windows service (Windows Server 2012 R2). I wanted the service not to be autostarted on host startup.

I opened an admin console typing:

Code: Select all

WCCILpmon -install -set C:\\projects\\myproject\\config\\config 0 -name -PMON_MYPROJECT
Looking at the Windows services I saw that the service was created but the startup type is "Automatic". I expected it to be "Manual".

Cheers,
Florian

Hello Florian,

if you enter "0" than the project will not start automatically.
But the windows service will be set always to "automatic" by default. Of course, it is possible to set it to manual startup.
So the "0" or the "1" is related to project startup.

btw. new patch WinCCOA 3.14 P011 was released since yesterday.

best regards,
Andreas

Hi Andreas,

yeah, I just talked with a colleague about it and it suddenly came to my mind, that it is related to project startup and not service startup.

But thanks for answering. ;)

best regards,
Florian
