Help... I've been battling BIRT reporting issues and would appreciate an extra set of eyes.
This installation is on a single server:
1) WinCC OA 3.14 p7
2) JAVA 1.8_0_111
3) Tomcat v9
4) Latest BIRT Runtime package installed as WebViewerExample webapp in Apache
5) eclipse NEON and BIRT editor
There appears to be a freaking huge issue with security between JAVA 8 and the latest BIRT Runtime packages... The only way I can successfully run a report from the BIRT report designer OR as a Runtime report from a webclient is by modifying these JAR files (org.eclipse.birt.runtime_4.6.0-20160607.jar AND org.eclipse.datatools.connectivity.oda_3.5.0.201603142002.jar) and removing the following META_INF folder files: ECLIPSE_.RSA and ECLIPSE_.SF
NOTE: those JAR files are located in the WebViewerExample/WEB-INF/lib of the BIRT runtime download
Is there a better path to resolution or at least provide corrected installation documentation that lists EXACTLY what versions of JAVA, BIRT, Apache have been tested and are supported?

Re: BIRT Report
As stated in this Bug Report, this has unfortunately been introduced in the 4.6 version of the BIRT runtime.
We have tested the recent version of Eclipse BIRT (NEON) which is working fine, but our runtime tests have been done with version 4.5.
We will take a closer look at this issue.
At the moment there seems to be only the solution (as you described or can be found in the above bug report) to delete that 2 files or using an older runtime version, e.g. version 4.5.
